Cristiano Ronaldo on Real Madrid's Champions League triumph

Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo reflects on his side's 4-1 victory in the Champions League final against Juventus.

Cristiano Ronaldo's brace helped Real Madrid retain the Champions League, making a historic 12th continental crown by overcoming Juventus in a memorable Cardiff showdown.

The long journey to European glory was at its peak under the roof in Wales, where Zinedine Zidane's men showed their killer instinct to win the title for the third time in four seasons.

After Ronaldo opened the scoring by turning home Real's first shot on goal, Mandzukic scored a overhead kick - surely one of the greatest goals ever.

But Juventus' dreams of a first Champions League title in 21 years ended in heartbreak as Madrid went on rampage, regaining their lead as Casemiro's 30-yard goal.

Ronaldo turned home at the near post to take his goal tally for club and country to 600.

Ronaldo had his disputes with fans whistling to him. One of the reporters asked him about that, and he just smiled and answered:  The most important thing is that I did an amazing season. Me and my team mates we won the double! To speak about myself... I don't need to speak. The numbers don't lie.
